little piece of Heaven

Last year, I absolutely DREADED knowing I had to have Spanish 2 class everyday. I knew I failed miserable at Spanish 1, and knew I wasn't ready mentally or emotionally for Spanish 2.
My first few days in there were as dreadful as you can only imagine, then about a week into it a blessing happened. A girl named Heaven, who has became one of my all-time favorite people got moved into my class and sat right next to me.
She made me laugh all the time, she was either cracking jokes or asleep and there was no in between. She was amazingly talented at Spanish. She caught on really quick, she actually helped me!
But besides teaching me Spanish, she taught me so much more. My friend Kayla and I became extremely close with her during that trimester last year, and she still remains as one of my bestfriends. She sat by us at lunch last trimester, and luckily I have another class with her this trimester!
The moral of this story is that regardless of how badly you may dread something, amazing things can come out of it. So don't be afraid to try something new, go in with a positive attitude & amazing things can come out of it!

•my friend Kayla, Heaven & I and the poster we made Heav for her birthday! {dove is her nickname, & I'm tiger}

•Heav and I at prom! We might've danced a little too much!

•Heav & I at field day... We had a little too much fun!

•Heav and I at the pep rally on the first day of school after being seperated for a whole summer!

•Just a smiley picture!

•our lunch crew!

•taken yesterday, she wanted a picture because she got a new phone!

A lot of people may not understand the friendship we've built with Heaven, but I honestly don't know what I would do without her. Thank you for always brightening my day!

blessed Sunday

what a amazing day it was!
I woke up this morning and I knew it was going to be a good day. I went downstairs, and dad had a fresh pot of coffee on. {it tasted extremely good too}
Then I got ready for church and do you ever have those days that you just get ready really quick and still feel like you're all dressed up? It was one of those days!
We had really good weather today as well, I love KY because it's pretty for majority of the year. The drive to church was extremely peaceful, and get this: it's about a 25 minute drive to my church, and I hit no commercials on the radio! I was really excited about that for sure.
At church, we talked about unconditional love which just made me feel extremely blessed just talking about the love Jesus has for all of us.
After church, I went home and I did all of my laundry, watched Grey's, and did some scripture art.
Mom and I made Chinese for dinner and I just finished up all of my homework, and I'm hoping this amazing day is giving me a start off to a better week.
To achieve a good week, I wanted to write my 5 goals for the week!
1. Organize my bible study binder
2. Study an hour a day for the A.C.T. I have this upcoming Saturday {eeeeek}
3. Get an appointment to get my hair done
4. Do some Christmas DIY activities
5. Encourage others to make Christmas cards my friend Mackinsey & I are giving out to the Veteran center next week!

I hope everyone had an amazing day, and is excited to start the week... Oh, and Christmas is in NINETEEN DAYS! happy holidays!

Christmas decorating

I know I've said this a million times, and I'll probably say it a million more times: I LOVE THE HOLIDAYS.
Everything about the Christmas season puts me in an amazing mood, and recently just walking around the house does! Mom and I did some Christmas decorating and I wanted to show off all of our hard work!

•absolutely LOVE the stockings for my sister and I and the whole mantle setup!

•this isn't the main Christmas tree, it's just one for the living room but I absolutely adore it!

•just some extra cute decorations! Love the jumbo size ornament, the wrapping paper holder, the ornament wreaths & the penguin cookie jar!

•the main Christmas tree in the front hallway and some of my favorite ornaments! We always go and try to do a fun Hallmark ornament tree rather than plain ones! We also have tons of homemade ornaments and even a singing one that sings carols when you press the stocking (3rd ornament)

I hope everyone has as much fun hanging up ornaments as my mom and I did, it's such a great bonding time and it's fun to blast Christmas music too!   Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

bestfriend vs boyfriend breakup

the difference between breaking up with a boyfriend and a bestfriend is that when you date someone, you either know you're going to break up or spend the rest of your life with them. whenever you and a bestfriend break up, there's no expectation of failure with it.
the worse thing about a bestfriend breakup, is the memories that come along with it. there's no such thing as ex-memories even if there is an ex-bestfriend. how could one forget the limitless amount of sleepovers, years of friendships and the many pictures we have to remind us of the old friendship. one thing about today's world, is when you have a bestfriend break up, you have time hop to remind you of the friendship you once had.
every year, the same collection of memories will come up and you'll see the pictures but every time you see them it'll be another year has gone by and everyone knows that a lot can happen to a person within a year. it's hard to look at the pictures and realized one of the people in the picture changed for the worse and wrecked a friendship and I think it's even worse when you have to admit to yourself the person was you.
another thing with today's technology, you can still be updated with your old friend's life. you can know what they are for lunch, what book their reading, who their new bestfriend is, or anything in between. you get to see all of their successes and you can even let them know you support them from a like or a comment; but, in reality you know it hurts when you realize you weren't the one they called squealing or ran up to hugging when they found out their good news.
the reality of it is when you lose a bestfriend its a lot different then losing a boyfriend, you lose the memories, the shoulder that has all your past heartbreaks tears, and everything else with it.
hold onto your friends and forgive easily because nothing is worth losing a friendship over, especially if someone is your bestfriend.

Christmas movie galore

it's a Saturday night and you and your girls decide to have a girls night in. how should you spend it? binge watching the best Christmas movies!
I absolutely love the holiday season, everything about it makes me super happy. I'm a very seasonal person, I love to do holiday festivities so spending a Saturday night drinking hot cocoa, lounging in PJ's, eating Christmas candy & watching my favorite Christmas movies with my best friends seems like a fun, relaxing night!
the following are some of my all-time favorite Christmas movies!

deck the halls: this movie will make you laugh so hard hot cocoa will come out of your nose, ears & eyes.. I promise!

home alone: how could you have a Christmas movie night and not watch the movie about a kid getting to spend Christmas by himself? this is a classic!

elf: 2 words: Will Ferrel. 'nuff said.

Christmas vacation: this is a little bit on the more mature side considering the humorous events that happen, but I'm way too excited for the new one to come to theaters this season as well!  I absolutely adore this movie!

• the Grinch: basically the movie we've all seen a thousand times and we all want to see a thousand times more!

the Polar express: a child hood favorite! this is where the hot cocoa comes in handy, because it's very frowned upon if you watch this movie and you don't have on pajamas and hot cocoa!

grab your girls, head to the store to get hot cocoa and other Christmas treats, go to red box and have a fun night in watching Christmas movies!

positivity and gratitude

today, as soon as I stepped out of bed, I knew it was going to be one of those days.
the days that drag on and just seem to make you want to cry at the littlest things and where you can't be happy regardless of how hard you try.
today, I felt like I just kept messing up and couldn't do anything right and one of my friends Josie knew I was upset and texted me asking what was wrong.
dramatically, I sent her a 20 item list telling her every little thing that went wrong about my day.
she acknowledged every single problem I had with advice and in one of them was about how I was really having writers block on what to write about and she mentioned how I should do some of my favorite bible verses. when she said this it reminded me I hadn't finished the last day of this bible study plan (the psalms of gratitude) I've been doing on "she reads the truth." I went through the whole plan and picked out my favorite verses they gave me and decided to upload them because these verses changed my awful  day to positivity and gratitude!

•these next few aren't verses in particular, but just quotes that came along with the plan

I just wanted to thank my friend Josie for changing my bad day in a matter of minutes, so thankful to have someone like you in my life!
I hope everyone has had an amazing first day of December and I hope everyone is prepared for the upcoming holiday-themed blogs! goodnight everyone 💙

Friendsgiving 2015

"as we grow up we realize it's less important to have a ton of friends, and more important to have real ones."

Throughout high school so many friends have come and gone, it's really quite funny to look back on who you were with your freshman year and who you're spending your senior year Thanksgiving with! We hosted our first annual "Friendsgiving" tonight and I'm so excited to make this a yearly tradition with these ladies. We had the perfect Friendsgiving and it was the first of very many!

Menu:
•bourbon meatballs
•stuffing
•mashed potatoes
•macaroni & cheese
•creamed corn (home grown)
•chicken & dumplings
•banana pudding
•apple pie
•sweet tea

everyday, God gives us many blessings.  four of mine are in the picture above!
{top L-R: myself, emilie, & Josie}
{bottom L-R: katie, & Abby}

having friends that you can pray with before you eat is one of the most comforting feelings a girl can have!

food that will probably make you gain 10 pounds just by looking at the pictures

typical pre-grubbing picture

the rest of these group photos are picture that my friend Emilie took and edited with her camera & fancy photography skills!
I hope everyone has had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I'm 100% sure I'm full until Christmas!
