the situation would've never happened, except I tried doing something nice and it came around and backfired, which is okay.
whenever someone does you wrong, I've came to closure that that is their own fault. regardless of my good intentions, that can't change the character of another person.
the biggest battle I face as a Christian is gossip and being kind to everyone. I'm a teenage girl, of course sometimes I want to be able to talk about a girl I don't like (which sometimes my anger gets the best of me and I do.. hey I'm human) or be able to spread vicious rumors about my enemies, and a lot of times I think these things, but I don't do them. our main goal as Christians is to love one another like Jesus loved us: unconditionally.
unconditionally means regardless if someone made you cry, hurt your feelings, or even made your life awful, you still have should love them unconditionally. this is a constant battle for me considering I'm very stubborn and have a tendency to hold grudges.
when someone hurts you, intentionally or not, you simply have to let it go and put it in God's hands. you can't help another persons actions, but you can pray for them. in my bible study tonight, it talked about praying for our enemies, and on the blog a girl named a few reasons of why she wouldn't want to pray for her enemies, so I went ahead and decided to write 5 reasons why I would and wanted to share them.
1. to overcome anger
2. for help with forgiveness
3. closure
4. peace
5. become secure with your feelings
prayer helps heal us and our enemies. it helps heal our resentness, bitterness and our anger. in the end, regardless of how tiring being the better person may be, it will end up helping you become a better person from the outside in.
"But I say, love your enemies! pray for those who persecute you." -Matthew 5:44
